SUBCONTRACTOR ISSUES
|
Pursuant to Florida Law, subcontractors are considered
employees of the general contractor and, therefore, the
general contractor must provide workers’ compensation
coverage for any subcontractor’s employees, unless the
subcontractor has its own workers’ compensation coverage
or is exempt.
However, understanding the intricacies and complexities
of exemptions and coverage issues is crucial in avoiding
exposure to claims brought forth by employees of
subcontractors.
The attorneys at Druckman, Fee and Chait, P.A. can
provide your company with written policies and
procedures to utilize with all subcontractors in order
to avoid costly and unforeseen exposure. |
